Data remembers everything that happens for posterity, including Sir Patrick Stewart mouthing out Henry Five lines to him. You'll cheer for Klingons! The consequences of this events depicted here are felt for centuries. No pressure.

Now Picard and the Federation want them to get along so the raiding stops in this sector, but there's a little blood feud investigation that Riker and Dr. Crusher must take care of first. Oops! This one does NOT AGE WELL. Counselor Deanna Troi gets to have the spotlight in this episode, which is good. Max McCoy as the negotiator Ral is a real terrible gaslighting villain, however, in how he attempts to abuse and manipulate both Troi and the bidding process for a "stable" wormhole. We're just not sure the production knew he was a villain going in! Great moments with Riker as the foil to Ral at the proverbial poker table, and the funny Ferengi performances as a prelude to a Star Trek: Voyager episode almost a decade later are the strong points. But in general, this episode made our toes curl ... up and break off.

You never know when you'll be asked to save the life of a Romulan. This is a Geordi and Worf showcase episode, and it pulls on so many of our Cold War/Gen X sensibilities that we can barely stand it. Geordi's forced to work together with his captor to escape Galorndon Core, a planet with electrical storms to die for! Worf can save Picard in his brinksmanship with the ever-amazing Andreas Katsulas as Tomalak to avoid interstellar war, but he refuses because Romulans murdered his family. This one goes off the rails pretty fast since we lose Erik along the way due to bad internets. Geordi creates not just one creepy scenario on the holodeck, but two in one episode! Picard gets jazzed about ships in bottles, then gets the crew trapped in one. Only Geordi and his robot engineer girlfriend can save the day. Well actually, Picard does that too. Anyway, Kate, Jimmie and Greg learned the only way to learn how to love someone is to create a copy of them in the holodeck. And we learned about sound effects made popular by Dick Wolf and Christopher Nolan too! Oh and Kate was actually right - Dr. Leah Brahms DOES look like a Gibson Girl.

It's been a while since we've talked about grief. It's a very special episode with special guest, Shareef Jackson, joining our cultural bridge crew for this journey. Worf leads an away team that results in the death of a crewmate who is survived by 8-year-old real estate agent Jeremy Astor. The crew check in with each other on the loss, but none is affected more than Wesley Crusher. Jeremy's mom reappears though, and she wants to take her son back to the planet for some super fun times with the energy beings. Troi leads the session where Wesley tells Picard to suck eggs, Worf asks Jeremy to be his Klingon brother, and the energy being goes home. It's a hoot!

No, this episode wasn't written by Alan Moore, but we do get some Ray Wise! The Enterprise has to go see about a duck-blind studying a primitive race in a secret observation post that, oops, isn't so invisible all of a sudden. The Prime Directive gets blown the F up, and Picard isn't too happy about it. In fact, he almost turns into an angry god when they don't listen to Riker and Troi on a cosplay/dress-up mission. Jimmie invokes The Picard, in his name, we podcast.

The Husnocks aren't all bad. The Enterprise encounters a planet, the surface of which has been completed eradicated of life except for a very nice timeshare property on the Palm Coast of Florida. There lies Kevin (no really, Kevin) and his wife Rishon very much alive and well in their old age, happy to live out their days in a hellscape. There's a secret in the music box, and Deanna Troi can't get the earworm out of her head. We don't talk about Bruno, but we do discuss the many plot holes in this episode in great detail!

Dr. Stubbs is a wunderkind just like him and those two bond over living up to the POE-tential as a gifted kid and baseball. It's a stealth Prime Directive episode, and Ken Jenkins chews up the scenery while providing ample fodder for Star Trek Acid Party.
